Structural Piles

Depending on your structural needs, we can provide cast-in-situ bored piles that range from 600mm-2000mm in diameter. Our state-of-the-art Casagrande Hydraulic Rigs are also capable of installing piles in all types of soil conditions including rocky terrains up to a depth of 78m.

We are also equipped with temporary steel casings for unstable ground conditions, where ground water is encountered, our water tight steel casings will prevent and preserve water cement ratio and concrete quality during casting.

Using our ready mix concrete plant, we provide a complete foundation solution that ensures delivery of quality concrete that meets the essential grade and workability consistently. Our in-house laboratory is adequately staffed and equipped with the necessary apparatus to perform the routine quality control tests required of any modern RMC plant.

To ensure quality of structural piles, installation checklist is used to pass performance requirements in terms of load carrying capacity at acceptable settlement criteria. Dugda’s load testing for both working and preliminary piles of specified design loads are accurate with monitored data output. Our design team can provide a safe and economical design for the reaction system that support the applied test loads.

Setting up at the pile location including any temporary starter casings (as required).
Drilling of the borehole by methods of auguring or coring dependant on the soil and ground water conditions.
Installation of fabricated cages upon reaching the design pile toe and after cleaning of the pile bottom.
Concreting of pile with the tremie method insuring a continuous casting free from debris and segregation inclusions and finally extraction of temporary casings (if any).

Shoring Systems
.

A shoring system is a vertical retaining wall that is used to temporarily support an excavation pit safely and economically until the permanent retaining system is in place. Dugda provides several viable solutions depending on the in-situ soil and ground water conditions. Our design team can provide the most economical and sound solution tailored to clients’ specific requirements. The most common type of shoring system entails the installation of anchored bored pile walls with shotcrete membrane in-fills. Such system is suited for minimal to nil ground water conditions with favourable soil parameters. In case ground water conditions prevail, we can provide a water tight secant pile shoring system where piles form an interlocking wall, which will retain water from seeping.

Anchored-Bored Pile Wall System

This system entails the installation of adjacent piles that are laterally supported by post grouted pre-stressed anchors. The gap between the piles is usually supported with a reinforced shot-crete wall. The construction steps entail installation of bored piles at design intervals followed by excavation and shot-crete installation between the piles. The installation of the post-grouted anchors, which is highly detailed requires the following essential steps. After anchor installation, excavation can proceed to the next level until final depth is reached.

Applications

Basement construction, deep bridge pier construction, slope stabilization, under-passes, cut-off walls (dams), road or rail cuttings, cut-and-cover tunnels, underground tanks etc. Dudga offers two types of shoring systems: Anchored Bored Pile Walls and Secant Pile Walls. Choosing a system depends on a variety of factors including soil type, ground water, retained height, lateral support system, design life etc.

Secant Pile Walls
.

Our Secant piles offer an effective solution for constructing retaining walls, cofferdams for foundations on water charged or difficult ground. It’s also suitable for retaining fine sands and very soft wet ground and may be used for cut-off walls in dam constructions. By using Bored Piles with segmental casing, we can create a finished watertight permanent wall that requires no additional wall system to be built in front.

We install secant pile walls that are secure and safe to ensure that the ground or composition behind the wall is firmly held in place despite its lateral soil and ground water pressures that acts against the retaining structure. Specifications for secant piled walls constructed using Bored Piles with segmental casing ranges from diameter 620mm-1500mm
